Cloquet nodes are specialized lymph nodes located in the armpit region. They are also referred to as axillary lymph nodes and are responsible for draining the lymphatic fluid from the arms, upper chest, and upper back. Cloquet nodes are typically located just above the axillary vein and can be easily palpated during a physical exam. They play an important role in the body's immune system by filtering out foreign substances and bacteria from the lymphatic fluid and producing immune cells that help fight infections. Cloquet nodes may become swollen or enlarged in response to infections or other medical conditions, which may require further evaluation and treatment by a healthcare professional.
